Total lockdown will not put an end to COVID-19 pandemic: Kharabsheh

Monday, the head of the Epidemic Assessment Committee Saad Al-Kharabsheh told Roya's Nabd Albalad that the COVID-19 curve in Jordan is escalating since the beginning of February.

Kharabsheh added that we have entered a new coronavirus wave, and this came as a result of the mutated COVID-19 strains which are spreading more rapidly.

Kharabsheh said that he believes that a total lockdown can help reduce the number of COVID-19 infections temporary but it will not put an end to the pandemic. He stressed that in order to limit the spread of the virus, a large number of citizens and residents of Jordan should receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

Jordan has recorded 26 deaths and 6,068 new COVID-19 cases Monday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 397,158.
